How to help your teen manage exam stress
As out teens age, their problems become more complex. They have school to manage, friendships to navigate and let’s not talk about those raging hormones. It is important to be a safe space for our teens, so they can talk openly and freely. Here are some tips and tricks for your ‘raising teens toolbox’ to help you, help them.
- Create A Revision Plan: This creates structure and a routine like when they are in school. A timetable if you like, which can keep them on task.
- Vary Revision Locations: Switching up the locations can mitigate any feeling of monotony of that groundhog feeling.
- Seek A Counsellors Support If Your Teen Is Struggling: Don’t have your teen suffer in silence. Talking to someone external from your family is a useful tool to gauge what’s really going on.
- Continue With Activities: Exercise is such a valuable tool to tap into those natural endorphins and get the blood flowing. There are so many benefits to exercise, sleep and a healthy diet.
- Meditation: Can teach your teen how to manage stress through breathing exercises and distraction techniques. Counsellors can help with this also.
