COVID-19 tests explainedCOVID-19 Tests Explained

There are two kinds of tests available for COVID-19 testing, viral and rapid antibody tests. Viral tests check samples from your respiratory system. The test involves swabbing the nasal cavity and results usually come back within 3-5 days. A rapid antibody test might tell you if you have had a past infection. The test involves a finger prick that tests for antibodies in your blood and results take 10-15 minutes.

PCR molecular viral test

  • Nasal swab
  • To discover whether you have an active virus, we perform PCR tests with a nasal or oral swab. PCR, or polymerase chain reaction, is used to amplify trace amounts of DNA or RNA. That is, it makes many more identical copies of the sample. This helps the lab technician to determine with a very high probability the identity of the source.
  • If you test positive for COVID-19. Self isolate and seek medical advice if your symptoms worsen.
  • If you test negative for COVID-19.  You have been diligent and not contracted the virus, continue these measure per the Center of Disease Control Recommendations
  • Self-Pay $110 per test
